Creating a Better Online User Experience Brings Results
From its headquarters in Vermont, Better provides the financing, expertise and products that deliver energy efficient large-scale buildings and communities worldwide.
We were asked to improve the structure, navigation, design and overall usability of Better’s website. The objective is to make the array of services and products more readily accessible for differing user needs.
We spent time with Better’s management team which helped us to understand their business objectives and audience needs, and to inform the process of bringing the two together.
Following an information architecture and usability review, the first step was to rationalise the complex offering into five distinct service areas. To increase recognition and usability we gave each service area a colour corresponding to the five staves in the Better logo. We redesigned user pathways, page design and content and enhanced the calls to action.
Other enhancements include the introduction of social media and a password protected customer portal. Manifest has since provided CMS training to key staff to help ensure content is regularly updated.
